Karting 101

Rules

  • Closed-toe shoes required
  • Helmet provided: balaclava required ($5 on site)
  • No loose clothing, scarves or long cords
  • Under 18: waiver signed by a parent
What are the age and height requirements?

LR5 Kids kart: ages 8 to 12, at least 122 cm (48 in).

RT10 Regular kart: ages 13 and up, at least 152 cm (60 in).

SR5 Elite kart: ages 15 and up, at least 152 cm (60 in) and Elite status (qualify first in an RT10 or hold a racing licence).

Drivers must meet both the minimum age and the minimum height.

What shoes should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Our parts counter also sells karting shoes.

Helmet, balaclava and clothing

A helmet with eye protection is required; a motocross helmet with goggles is accepted. If you use our helmets, a balaclava is mandatory: we sell them on site ($5).

We recommend long pants. No loose clothing or accessories (open jacket, scarf, long cords). Depending on the weather, gloves are a good idea.

How fast do the karts go?

Our Regular karts reach about 80 km/h and our Elite karts about 90 km/h, depending on the track layout and gearing.

What are the safety rules?

Karting is an extreme sport. Every driver must stay within their limits and follow the rules; reckless driving means you are taken off the track.

Do not drive if you have health problems (dizziness, seizures, heart or back problems) or if you are pregnant. If in doubt, ask your doctor.

Can my child under 18 drive alone?

Yes, but a parent or guardian must be present to sign the liability waiver.

Do you have two-seat karts?

No, all our karts are single-seaters. For safety reasons, you cannot carry a child on your lap.
